Joining Environment Hubs Aotearoa

Gribblehirst Hub is proud to be the newest member of Environment Hubs Aotearoa! We've always had community at our heart, with sustainable and environmental practices being a natural part of our activities and offerings. We were early adopters of the repair cafe movement, follow organic gardening principles, and support monthly vegan meals for the community.

Over the last few years, we have made climate action a bigger priority. At the time of the 2023 flood event, we realised how vulnerable we were to nature's forces and that we could be better prepared for the future. We have since become a Community Emergency Hub, working with our members and local community to get prepared to stand up in response to an emergency.

With support from Auckland Climate Action (formerly Live Lightly), we have also been able to deliver workshops, encourage climate pledges, and promote active transport in our community.

We are looking forward to continuing our journey side by side with this great network of Environment Hubs, and sharing positive impact stories and successes along the way. Mauri ora!
